Dr. Priya Ashwath
Doctor

Dr. Priya Ashwath has been practicing medicine for six years, holding a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). She’s also trained through the Sydney Children’s Health Program and has developed a strong interest in women’s health, reproductive medicine, and menopause management. Inspired by a deep desire to support people at their most vulnerable, Priya was struck by the often-overlooked transition of menopause and is passionate about empowering women to feel in control of their health during this transformative stage.
Priya’s approach to menopause care is holistic and collaborative. She works in partnership with her patients to make informed decisions that reflect their values and goals, ensuring treatment plans address not only physical and psychological symptoms but also overall wellbeing. Guided by respect for the diversity of women’s experiences, she combines evidence-based medicine with compassion and shared decision-making to help women feel confident in their health choices.
One of her proudest milestones has been working in regional communities such as Dubbo and Bathurst, where she provided women’s health services to vulnerable patients with limited access to care. Being able to advocate for women in these communities and deliver timely, life-changing diagnoses has been a highlight of her career. In addition to menopause management, Priya also specialises in weight management, preventative medicine, paediatrics, mental health, and reproductive procedures such as implanon insertions and removals.
Outside of medicine, Priya enjoys hiking, travelling, baking, and exploring new cafes and parks with family and friends.
